The Morning Call
It is over a year since Burundian journalist Jean Bigirimana went missing.
Bigirimana who worked with Iwacu newspaper went missing in July 2016 after reportedly leaving his home in Burundi’s capital Bujumbura for Bugarama, a 40 kilometers town away.
Thought by many in the country to have been arrested by the intelligence services, the Burundian government denied it had arrested the journalist.
As the world marks the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, Bigirimana’s colleagues, friends and family have launched a relentless search to find him.
